Ketosteril

If anyone has any Ketosteril Mom needs it for Pebbles. It is a very expensive mediaction but mom says it would prolong her life considerably. Any vets?

Update Here

I have been able to blog because Mom is always busy and I have a lot of work here too. I have been helping Dad to make pink dog houses. Pebbles has been very ill and has liver failure. She is at the vet clinic now on a drip and we are all waiting and praying she gets better. She will never be cured we are hoping she can live a few more months with special food and care. If she doesn't respond to treatment then she will only live less than ten days. Emmy is also trying to help from where she is up in Heaven. Here are some pictures of my friend Pebbles.

Here is me and Pebbles waiting at the vet's clinic. She is really ill and can't even eat anymore.

Here she is being fitted up with her drip. She has to stay at the vet's clinic all day taking one litre of liquid drip in a bag that is supposed to help her. It took five and a half hours for the first half litre bag to go in. I began to cry because although I am a very macho dog I love Pebbles and felt a bit guilty for irritating her so much. I used to sleep on top of her like a pillow. I didn't know she was ill. I won't be doing this anymore i am going to do everything to make her happy if she survives.

I have been very selfish. Emmy told me so and explained how I took up all the space on the sofa and didn't share. Then I slept using her as a pillow as well.

I am going to be sooo nice to her in future.

She is coming home on Friday and I am arranging a welcome home party for her. She will have more blood tests on Friday after more treatment to see if she is responding. I don't want to lose another friend. It seems like I just got here and they are all leaving to go where Emmy is. Misty and Freddy both probably need to go to the vet as well. Mom says if she can sort out the competition money, which is still well tied up in The Banco Brasil Central bank because of stupid Brazilian banking regulations, then we can get on with sorting everything out. Brazil is a stupid country where everything is made difficult. They have just been told on the telephone that they will have to travel three and a half hours to a place to sort this out and have the Sun Super documentation translated by an authenticated person and then authenticate the already authenticated document. This is how Brazil works, or doesn't work as Mom says. Mom won the money to spend on us and it will now be a miracle and a lot of work and expenses to get it. Not to mention just how long the entire silly procedure will take. You actally have to authorize money to enter your own account here first. Anyway Emmy told me to stop moaning and count my blessings. So, I am starting only I don't know how to count. Here I am at the vet clinic waiting for Pebbles.

Mom put this picture of me on FaceBook and everyone said how handsome I have become. I do know this but it's always good to hear. Someone even suggested I go and model professionally.  After my selfish behaviour with Pebbles I decided to be a better dog and I let Gemma try out the sofa. She liked it. Hope she isn't going to get to used to it because the sofa is always overcrowded.

I have been decorating the sofa with mud. I love to smear mud all over it. Mom doesn't think it's very artistic at all. I use my paws as a paint brush and smear abstract patterns. Here you can see me in action. My paws are usually white. Mom ask me what I was doing? and I just looked around to see who she was talking to.

After I finished my art practice I decided to have a sleep so I accomodated myself on the sofa.

Gemma has been settling in so here are some photos of her.

Here she is and Pluto is behind her.

She loves cuddles.

I am getting to know her too.

I am teaching her about life. Emmy is telling me what to say because actually I know nothing much really except how to play and chew mom's things. Mom is still feeding street dogs and cats.

There are a lot of them out there and they are hungry.

Gemma's Story posted by Joey.

http://animalrescuechase.com/rescue_showcase/story.php?id=892

Mom told me to post this, so for once I did as I was told because Emmy said it's true. She said she saw Gemma in the dense forest wandering alone and lost and knew she was going to die, so she guided her to Mom and Dad. That is just the sort of thing Emmy would do. When Gemma wanted to run Emmy told her not to. Emmy explained to her that she would be okay and get looked after and loved. Emmy was right.

Mom Gave Me a Job

Mom said I should start cleaning up my own mess starting with all my muddy paw prints and then she gave me this stupid brush. I don't know much about cleaning up mess. My speciality is creating mess, so I just ran around the garden making it look like I was doing something useful. I think they were fooled because they laughed and were obviously very happy to see me working at something useful.

Then they decided they wanted the brush back but I held on to it so they would think I liked cleaning.

I did this for quite a while so I would get a treat for all my work. Then finally Dad came and took the little brush back.

Below is a oicture of yours truly with Misty. She is called Mad Misty and looks a bit like me.

After all my work I went and snuggled down with Guga on the sofa that I ruined.

Guga is my best friend. He is teaching me all the macho things because the other house dogs are all a bunch of girls and just do girlie things. I'm learning to be a male so I need a role model. Guga is the perfect gentleman and he says he is going to teach me some manners. I wouldn't be to sure about that though!

It's Mom's Birthday tomorrow

It's moms' birthday tomorrow. Here I am relaxing with Guga, Mom's gonna relax like that with dad soon,

I love my mom and dad just as much as I loved Emmy and love Guga. I am a happy boy. Mom says the humans that dumped me when I was just 2.9 kilos were nasty idiots. I agree with Mom. They didn't even have patience to see what a nice guy I am. I can be a pain in the you know what. I was gonna say ass but Emmy stopped me in time. I am so glad I ended  up here and left those stupid humans behind. I have been workig here. I will tell you all about it tomorrow.

Gemma the New Dog and Me

I'm back! I have been busy with some gardening and ridding the world of bugs. I eat a lot of bugs they taste real good. Some are chewy and they all have different flavors. I especially like the grass hoppers their legs are a bit tough, but you can always spit them out if you don't like them. On Sunday it was sunny here and I helped Dad with the garden. He mowed the lawn and I pruned a nice little three foot Pine tree. Here it is after I nearly finished. I know the humans were pleased because they said 'Oh no Joey look at what you did' They were really impressed. I looked at what I did and I knew that it was a good job. I got rid of all those nasty leaves and branches.

Pebbles just sat there watching.

She asked me if I was sure 'I knew how to prune trees?'

Sam said I did a great job and the garden would be so much better off without all those leaves. She was really impressed too. I think Trooper will be getting jealous soon because she looked on in awe as I worked.

Trooper looked at me and then called me a 'little squirt'. He looked thoroughly bored with all my activity. He finally went back to his kennel and sat in a heap, muttering about me.

After the gardening I went to lay down. Gemma the new dog here is very polite and quiet at the moment. We all start off like that until they fall in love with us then we can misbehave and get away with it. She just yawned like I was boring. Obviously she has no idea just how dynamic I am.

She seems to prefer Dad to me!

Mom says she has put on weight even though she has a case of the runs. She is getting better and now she gets chicken and rice. I am planning to have the runs too because I want the chicken and rice too. Maybe one of the bugs will do it for me.

Finally I just thought you should see this beautiful sky. My friend Emmy is up there watching over me and I still love her and miss her. Mom still cries sometimes and I do. I know I am a yob at times but I have feelings too.

New Dog Here

Hi! I had a great day I got to go out in the car. They said I was being taken out because they can't leave me in the house alone. They called me 'Mr Destruction' I don't know what that means, but it must be a compliment. We went to the city for Mom to sort out some paper work for the Charity Status. Mom says it's very close now. She says when this happens there will be hope for lots more street dogs. I am all for this because it sucks when you are dumped by humans. Emmy just told me not to say 'sucks' online. So, I take that back and I will replace it with 'it's not nice'. How come she sees everything? I can't get away with saying 'sucks'. Anyway! the new dog that doesn't even have a name yet is happier. She wagged her tail a lot today so we all wagged our tails too.  Mom managed to get all the porcupine quills out except one.

The last one is visible here and has a very small tip Mom thinks she broke off the rest of it so it is difficult to get. She is going to the vets Monday for spaying. I will be going too because I am Mr Destruction. That is the great thing when you are Mr Destruction you don't get left at home.

We also heard the bad news about Tupa the dog who had the terrible ear infection. He has been living with Dr Andre the vet who is going to help with the non profit when Mom gets going. he is a good human and loved Tupa. I only met him briefly but he was a nice dog. He died.  He came to Mom and Dad with an ear infection but had terminal cancer as well. He died in his sleep and ate well up until the end. He stole our dinners when he was here with us. He always had a big appetite and.we all laughed when Mom had to do two dinners again because he ate his own plus two more. RIP Tupa. He has gone to the same place as Emmy and she is looking after him. She told me herself before Mom even knew. Emmy knows everything that goes on. I am going to bed now I just stuffed myself and feel Goooood! Good Night.

A New Dog Found Mom and Dad

Dad found a dog hiding in the garden this afternoon. She is very thin and frightened and has spines stuck in her nose. Mom said she had a run in with a porcupine. Mom cut the tips of the quills and tried to get them out but she screamed like Mom was killing her and wriggled a lot so Mom had to abandon it and tomorrow she will go to the vet to get them out. She is in season. Mom said I am too young to know about that. I presume she meant winter? Well we are all in winter so I don't get it. Anyway Mom says she must be spayed quickly and fattened p because she is so skinny. She has a very pretty face. She looks like a Doxie mix. Here she is.

She is very thin you can see her ribs.

Mom is asking for donations to take her to the vets and get her sorted out. She is very frightened and is going to sleep in a cage on the veranda tonight until Mom and Dad can sort out something for her.

Here she is getting some body weight back

Mud Glorious Mud

Hello everybody! It's me Joey in case you have forgotten my name. I am going to tell you about mud. Mud dominates our lives here. We have loads and loads of it. It never stops raining, so the mud never dries out. I realise most people including Mom and Dad don't like mud, but I am quite partial to a bit of mud and I like to roll in it occasionally. I would prefer warm mud, but we are stuck with cold mud. Tasha hates it and doesn't like to get her feet dirty. Dad has to carry her in and out of the kennel and she weighs 132lbs. I have warned him about his back but he doesn't listen to me because I am only a puppy.

As you can see there is a lot of mud.

Mini is another one of us who hates mud

Sam and I have a lot in common and I think one day we could be great friends. I would first have to get past Trooper her boyfriend and he is a bit too big to antagonize at the moment. I will wait and see how big I can grow first.

This is Trooper Sam's (who is a girl) boyfriend. he is very macho and can climb trees.

Panda doesn't mind the mud she walks on it but doesn't roll in it.

Mom and Dad are feeding feral cats as well as street dogs and us. So if anyone wants to donate then please go ahead.

Here is my old friend Guga. He has his dinner all over his nose and he doesn't know so I am not telling him. Oh Emmy just said I should tell him. Maybe I will whisper in his ear in a moment if he doesn't notice himself.
