Hello Peeps... As it is still January just..., I would like to wish you all a woofy happy New Year....
So, I should start by telling you about our New year - overheard Mom saying that it was like a horror film. I don't know what that is, due to my Scooby Doo scared nature, I am not allowed to watch films above a PG-13!
Things blew up, appliances were clicking on and off, lights were flashing everywhere. At one point Mom and Dad thought that the computer wires or generator might catch fire. Dad couldn't use the generator due to fluctuations of current, which ruined the automatic starter. Then tension went crazy and it was putting out 270 vaults! then 'PUFF' - mom's computer exploded!
It was very very scary! Guges was OK as he is deaf but poor little Harley was super stressed. Can any of you guess where I was - YES! - CORRECT!- had to give my mate Gemma one of my scariest looks, but I won! - yes... my shelf under mom's desk. True to character, it did make mom laugh and dissolve the tension a little bit!
Me under mom's desk.
Poor mom and dad had to sit in darkness with candles and abandoned dinner. Then... the fireworks started!!! - the less said about them, the better! Not a great start to the New Year!
So, as you all know I am an 'A' student and it would be amiss of me not to not let you know the facts and figures of last year. We and I mean he collective 'we, as we all play a part.....saved 42 dogs and 16 were adopted into loving, happy homes.

Sadly I had to say a sad goodbye to four of my friends, old and new - Blizzard, Freddy, Chester and Xana. I know they are all running free from pain at Rainbow Bridge..
Blizzard
Fat Freddy Three Ears.
Chester.
Xana.
The tick season was hooorrribble and we all suffered - poor Mom and Dad had to treat over 40 dogs for tick disease!...me included! (at least the tablet was wrapped in chicken).
Me Tablet time. Don't I look Handsome!
My dad was very poorly and had to have surgery and then to cap (pardon the pun!) it all he got maggots in his head! I overheard him saying that he knows how all us doggy folk feel before we were rescued. To be honest, I was quite surprised by this as thought flies only liked doggy smells!, sorry dad but just saying...
We have a super dooper new bath house, which I don't really like going into as it means I have to get wet and it's darker in there too (you all know how I am scared of the dark!) - I try to be brave but don't think I am fooling Mom!
We also have a new well - the less said about that the better! - deep, wet and dark!
'Adorable adoptables' is going from strength to strength thanks to Auntie Nicole. I always try to be on my best behaviour (except when the chicken comes out- after all I am a chicken addict!) as I would be mortified if I saw my photo on one of those pages...
We have been in the house for two years now and work has never stopped. Plans for this year are to sort out the unfinished kennels and build a recovery area for the sickies - hope I never end up in there - I like my home comforts too much.
Recovery area in progress.
In December, we all got Salmomella poisoning from Dad's meat supplier. I was one of the worst hit - I was sooooo poorly AND we were all on a dry ration for a bit. I was a bit depressed - can you imagine? - my life without CHICKEN!
Just before Christmas, we rescued 5 new puppies who had to be treated for Parvo. They now all have seriously scary lumps growing out of their heads and all need surgery to have them removed -it's going to cost Mom and Dad a fortune in vet bills.
Gracie the first pup to have surgery .
Post surgery.
Thanks to Uncle Curt's genius with the' intersomething' we are now up to over 30,000 likes - we only had just over 7,000 five months ago - crazy eh? I hope this means that more supporters will come to visit and bring me and the others tit bits! (chicken flavoured of course..)
Nicholas (now one of my charges in the house gang) got his eyesight back which was amazing as he was so depressed before. The DIB family really stepped up this time and raised for funds for his pioneering surgery. He is not out of the woods yet and has to have drops squirted into his eyes (much braver than me) but soooo much better.
Just before Christmas, Mom and Dad rescued a critically ill dog from near the cemetery where Rubytunes was dumped. Mom and Dad named him Blizzard with the hope that he would weather the storm and recover. Sadly, in spite of the Dogs in Brazil global family praying and sending positive energy for him, he died and we were all very sad. I was upset to see him suffering..
Blizzard the day Dad found him.
Grumpy little Charlie got poisoned by a cane toad (bet it was the little devil who got Bowie's eye!). He attacked it and it retaliated and bit him. Mom and Dad acted super fast and he is ok now. I don't think he will do that again in a hurry!
So, to sum up, it has been a very busy year and 2017 shows no signs of being any different. There are 88 of us now at casa DIB.
I would like to leave you with this thought - Alexandra (a long-time supporter in USA) called Mom and Dad her 'personal superheroes' - I was scooby do upset to hear that as I thought that I was mom's own special superhero! After all, I arrived just after the disaster as a 'blessing' (overheard that too - not that I am nosy or anything) and have made it my life's work to make mom laugh...guess I will have to accept 3rd best.
Catch you all later, Joey
