Dog Houses

Mom is still trying to fund raise for more fence wire, dog houses and kennels. She isn't doing too well at the moment, but she is hoping before the real cold weather comes that some kind soul will help us out. The house they made is nearly finished here it is. Mom is going to paint paw prints on it when it's finished.
Dad has to build quite a few more so that everybody can stay warm. Mom says that one day we will all be comfortable again. Trooper and Joey recently escaped due to the lack of the perimeter fence. If Mom takes her eyes off of us for one minute whilst we are outside then some of us start wandering off or start going down to the river. She is constantly stressed by this. She says she want's to win the lottery and build a proper secure place for us and continue rescuing dogs for the rest of her days.  She has been taking pictures of all our faces this week. Here are some. Mine first!

Here is Joey wearing his new collar. He is now wearing a medium sized collar that mom got as a gift sent from America with a whole load of other stuff.

Here is Mad Misty.

It has been an uneventful week. Apparently Mom's charity status is nearly complete. They can't help anymore street dogs until they organize the stuff here to be safe. I escaped too and the neighbor brought me back. I just fancied a little walk and wanted to see the goat herd up the road. Mom wasn't that pleased with me though. Please help mom and dad rescue more street dogs there are so many poor dogs out there tired, hungry, cold, in pain. dying and sick. Chip in.

Dog Houses and Joey's Trip to the Shopping Centre.

Dad is making dog houses. They need ten but don't have enough for ten. Dad isn't sure how many he can make he will just keep going until the wood runs out. He is making them all with double walls because it is so cold up here. It can drop to 0 at night. Here are some pics of the houses.

The double walls are going to be filled with polystyrene balls for insulation.Apparently Joey had a whale of a time in the shopping centre. Mom took photos of him. they have trolleys caled 'Petcar' to put us in. She said they didn't have one big enough for me. :-(  Joey told us all about it when he came home.

Mom is still asking for donations because we need the fence wire, three more kennels, roofs for kennels and all the normal everyday expenses.  So if you can help mom and dad in any way they really need it. They can't rescue anymore street dogs until they sort us out here.

Tuesday

Tupa is still alive and staying at the vet's house. Whilst Dad was helping at the adoption event on Saturday the vet, who lives near by brought him over on his lead to see dad. he clearly remembered dad and wagged his tail. He has put on a lot of weight. Th evet Dr Andre says that he is not in pain and he is still enoying life so he wont be going OTRB just yet. His throat has a massive tumor and he has another very big tumor in his rear end. We all feel very sorry for him, but glad he got to enjoy living like a pet and loved for the first time in his life before he goes. At least he knows there are some good humans. He won't die cold and alone in the streets full of pain and sadness. He doesn't look so good.

We are all praying he has a peaceful crossing when the time comes. His life is fading and young Joey is evolving. Joy weighed 2.9 kilos on January the 5th he is now nearly eleven kilos. We have all got used to him now accept Pebbles who still doesn't like him much. Here he is now.

He is going to be a handsome lad. He got so tall that he managed to steal some food from he dinner table today. He loves to eat bugs and he is playing with new toys because Mom and Dad got a beautiful gift from America full of goodies for us. Here it is.

There were lots of things mom wanted for us: grooming brushes, nail clippers, bacon flavoured treats to eat, bowls, blankets, collars, lots of toys, chews, shampoo and flea medication. Joey went mad with the selection of toys. This proves to us here there are some very nice people out there. Joey has developed this irritating habit of sleeping on top of us adult dogs here he is with Guga.

and then he had the audacity to sleep on my back too.

Please read this

"I would've died that day if not for you.
I would've given up on life if not f...or your kind eyes.
I would've used my teeth in fear if not for your gentle hands.
I would have left this life believing that all humans don't care. Believing there is no such thing as fur that isn't matted
skin that isn't flea bitten, good food and enough of it
beds to sleep on, someone to love me and
to show me I deserve love just because I exist.
Your kind eyes, your loving smile, your gentle hands
Your big heart saved me...
You saved me from the terror of the pound,
Soothing away the memories of my old life.
You have taught me what it means to be loved.
I have seen you do the same for other dogs like me.
I have heard you ask yourself in times of despair...
Why you do it ~
When there is no more money, no more room, no more homes
You open your heart a little bigger, stretch the money a little tighter Make just a little more room... to save one more like me.
I tell you with the gratitude and love that shines in my eyes
In the best way I know how
Reminding you why you go on trying.
I am the reason.
The dogs before me are the reason
As are the ones who come after.
Our lives would've been wasted, our love never given.
We would die if not for you."

Bathtime

Here is Joey the abandoned puppy having his first bath.

Help

Trooper and nine others are sleeping in card board boxes. They have no protection from wind or rain carried by the wind. We need help here wth the new infra structure and can't do it alone. We still need fence wire and roofs for kennels before we can help other vulnerable dogs in the streets. Please consider donating to help us set up again. Winter is coming and temperatures will be very cold at night.
